Get a real person on it →Why speed depends more on you than on the lender
Lenders that specialise in fast business funding can make decisions in hours. What usually decides whether the money lands today, this week or next month is how quickly the file comes together: bank statements, ID, the purpose, property details and, above all, signatures from everyone who needs to sign. The finder shows which of those steps apply to your route and which ones are still open.
It uses the same speed ranges lenders work to. Same-day funding is possible for smaller unsecured amounts. With property security, $20k to $250k is possible same day, and up to $5m is possible within 24–48 hours, once the file is complete. Anything that's missing pushes the timeline out, and the finder tells you by roughly how much.
How the route is chosen
- Without property, the finder looks at whether an unsecured loan is realistic: enough trading history, paperwork in order and credit history that won't stop a quick decision. Unsecured amounts typically run to $500,000.
- With property, it compares the unsecured route with property-backed options such as a caveat loan, second mortgage or first mortgage, and picks the one most likely to land in time.
- Very tight deadlines favour the simplest structures: unsecured for smaller amounts, caveat or second mortgage for larger ones.
- New businesses, paperwork that's behind or recent credit issues push the result toward property, because property-backed lenders rely more on the security and the exit.
An illustrative example
A Ballarat electrical contractor needs $120,000 within a week for switchboards on a commercial job. The business has traded for six years, its BAS is current but last year's return isn't lodged, and the owners have a home with plenty of equity. With nothing ticked as ready, the finder suggests a second mortgage with a timeline of a few business days, and lists linking bank statements, lining up both directors to sign and gathering the property details. Tick those three boxes and the timeline moves to same day possible.
After the finder
Work through the checklist, then start your enquiry. If you want more detail on each stage, read how fast a business loan can be funded and our checklist of what to have ready for same-day funding. If you're weighing a faster loan against a cheaper, slower one, the cost of waiting shows how to compare them.
Want a person to check it?
Tell us the amount, the deadline and what's ready. There's no credit check to make an enquiry, and your details aren't fired off to a list of lenders. A real person reads it and calls you, usually within the hour during business hours. Please fill in the form accurately, because the more accurate it is, the faster we can move. Start your enquiry.
Frequently asked questions
How does the funding speed finder work?
It weighs the amount, your deadline, whether property is available, how long you've traded, your paperwork and credit history, and how ready your file is. From that it suggests the route most likely to land in time and a realistic timeline for it.
Is the timeline a promise?
No. It shows what's possible when a file is complete, using the same speed ranges lenders work to: same-day funding possible for smaller unsecured amounts, $20k to $250k possible same day with property, and up to $5m possible within 24–48 hours. Real files can take longer.
Does using it affect my credit file?
No. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored. It runs entirely in your browser.
Why do the readiness boxes change the timeline so much?
Because most delays come from missing documents and people who aren't available to sign, not from lenders. Ticking them off is the quickest way to bring your timeline forward.
Why doesn't it show rates?
Every business loan is priced on the business's circumstances, so any figure would be wrong for most people. The finder is about which route can land in time; cost comes next.
What if it says my deadline looks tight?
Look at the checklist it gives you. Often one or two items, like linking bank statements or lining up a co-director to sign, are the difference. A real person can also look at funding the most urgent part first.
